Gala Bingo parent wins Corporate Responsibility Award
Gala Coral Group, the parent of leading brands Gala Bingo, Coral Bookmakers, Gala Casinos and Eurobet has been awarded a place in Business in the Community’s 2009 Corporate Responsibility Index for the very first time. Gala Coral managed to gain a well deserved Bronze in the UK’s leading voluntary standard of corporate responsibility.
Gala Coral secured its Bronze award for the company’s clear commitment to corporate responsibility across all its businesses. In particular this quality was shown in their continued work that they have done with the charity Sue Ryder Care, as well as the effort and time they put into their own businesses including Gala Bingo, whereby they have managed to become one of the industry leaders with regard to responsible gambling.
Chief Executive of the Gala Coral Group, Dominic Harrison was suitably impressed on the news that the company had achieved the Bronze level in the Corporate Responsibility Index and said in a press release “We’re delighted to have been included in the Corporate Responsibility Index for the first time and we are aiming higher as we continue to work on clear corporate responsibility goals” and “We were highly commended for our strong community partnerships where we have worked hard to raise over £1m for Sue Ryder Care. We also gained accolades for developing our strategy on environmental stewardship, where we have set and exceeded clear targets on carbon reduction.”
All of us here at Sunlight Bingo would also like to say congratulations to Gala Coral on a job well done and we hope that this will be the first of many awards for the company for their continued efforts.
