A Different Type Of Ball Game From Tidy Bingo
Tidy Bingo may not have been around for all that long, but they are certainly making the right impression. Not only do they bring us one exclusive promotion after another and raise a great deal of money for Help For Heroes through their weekly Tidy and the Troops charity games, but now they have sponsored the Ripon Rockets netball club.
The club is home to two netball teams, and is located in Ripon, North Yorkshire, the city where Nickie Shute (one of Tidy Bingo owners) is currently based. The deal was set up after a meeting was arranged between Helen Mackenzie and Nickie earlier this year. Helen Mackenzie is the Head Coach of the Ripon Rockets, a club that was set up two years ago as a Back 2 Netball squad, which is a scheme operated by England Netball and designed to encourage ladies back into the game, even if they have not played in years.
The original course ran for just six weeks but proved to be so popular that the decision was made to form a Senior Club, and the rest as they say is history. Helen who beat breast cancer in 2010, started her job on the sidelines, acting purely as a coach, but after finding themselves a shooter short one Sunday, became an active member of the squad and has played every weekend since!
The deal was signed, sealed and delivered by mid May, and will run for the next twelve months. It will see the Tidy Bingo logo appearing on the patch bibs that the teams wear and also on trophies that are given out to players on award nights. If you want to follow the team, make sure you keep an eye on the Tidy Bingo blog, where you will find photographs, fixtures, results and even themed competitions every now and again.
